V0.5 Coming Soon!

This release includes major structural changes and game-wide compression. We managed to shrink the game from 5 GB to 1.5 GB! All RPY and RPYC files are now compressed and no longer shipped separately. Plus tons of gameplay updates, new characters, and story content.

This should be the new game format going forward — no more structural changes planned.

What about save games from earlier versions?

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure. I did my best to handle compatibility issues. Here's the safest approach:

Don't rely on Ren'Py's built-in %appdata% folder. Instead, copy the contents of the /save folder from your previous version into the new version's /save folder (make sure all files are there, including the persistent file). In my testing, this works great.

If it doesn't work and you want to keep your old saves, let me know what went wrong and I'll release a bug fix.

For new players — you should have a clean, efficient, bug-free experience right out of the box. Enjoy!

Chronoromancer V0.4 – Coming November 15th!

This update brings some exciting new content and two major systems that mark a big step forward for the game.

1️⃣ Story Progression Begins
The main storyline toward confronting VOID has officially started!
You’ll now have map markers and a new communications tab to help you find the next story beat.
This is a large, ongoing system that will keep expanding with updates every two weeks.
I really hope you enjoy the story as it begins to unfold.

2️⃣ Brothel OR Hotel Management System
The internal management system is now fully operational, featuring:

  • Daily reports and income tracking

  • Worker training, experience, and advancement

  • Room upgrades and establishment reputation levels

  • Daily events

  • And new workers to recruit and manage!

NPC Update Poll Results
We had a three-way tie between Miki, Sonia, and Becky in the last poll.
While I couldn’t update all three, I chose Sonia and Becky to receive new, story-rich content that I think you’ll really enjoy.

Other Improvements
Alongside these major updates, you’ll also find:

  • More intuitive district-to-district travel

  • Brothel/hotel bed-and-breakfast mechanics

  • Numerous bug fixes and performance improvements

Hello, Why are you putting the info update in the comment section?? I try your game, the MC tend to forget what he already know, he learn aboud VOID in the future then go to medieval and act like "what VOID? never heard of it", that was like less than 10 min ago.

 I only learn about what to do and how to do it only after opening the little book but there is way too much thing in it, i feel like the game should slowly release all of that instead of just dumping everything in one go

I have no idea why the devil and angel appear, you finish the prologue then the game just dump them into you, their appearence must be tied to the story somewhat.

There is a need to have access to the chat log, sometimes i click too fast and i can't check the log to read what was said. There is no button to load directly when in game. There is no message to prevent i miss click and overwrite the wrong save.

There is a button in the main menu "prologue", it's useless i click on it, a BG appear with a text explaination then i just return to the main menu. You should just delete it.

There is currently no possibility to hide the text or the whole UI if i want to just look at the picture and nothing else.

It is a pain trying to roam everywhere trying to find someone to interact with. Maybe add a little icon next to the location if someone is in the location? 

I try to upgrade relationship with amelia i think? i just spam talk and sleep for 3 days straight and still no event except for the relationship stat going up and changing from stranger to known. It really doesn't feel like something is happening, maybe add a relationship bar so the player can feel that something is happening.

I accept a quest from a random mage but i forgot about it and there is no questlog of any kind.

The inventory is massive, there is way too much information, i have no idea what i must look. I feel like it should be filter into subsection to be more user friendly.

Overall, the game still has potential even if there is shotcoming

Really appreciate the thought you put into it; that kind of insight really helps me tighten things up between versions.

Some of what you mentioned is already being worked on — the quest log will be in for v0.2, and I really like your idea about showing when characters are present in locations, I didn't of adding that but I’ll look into that soon.  I will take what you suggested seriously and I'm sure within a couple more versions all those gameplay issues will be solved.

After months of development, I'm excited to share the first public beta with you all. This v0.1 release gives you a taste of what's to come - you can explore all three eras, try out the minigames, and experience the core systems that make Chronoromancer unique.
